Week 6 Weigh In Results/ The Sweet Tooth Files/ Dream Interpretations

Week 6 Weigh In Results: This Road Has Bumps

I went into this weigh in feeling nervous because it is my slow week and I usually lose 1/2-1lb, then 4-5 the next week. Well, I gained 0.8 lbs.  =(  I was disappointed because I didn't want to experience a gain during my journey, but so is life.  This week had some challenges.  It was my T.O.M and I experienced new cravings, crazy dreams, my computer died, all the while trying to acheive my new daily goals.  Let me just say that by Friday evening my body shut down and called TIME OUT!  I drank some Thera Flu and called it a night at 7:30 pm and did not open my eyes until 7:30 Saturday morning.
I did get some good news from my diabetes doctor.  My blood pressure is perfect, my weight loss was outstanding and if my blood sugar stays this controlled, my three month average (A1C) should be back to normal.  Next week's plan- I am going to keep my WW points tight and I've added some new recipes to the menu: Lasagna Cupcakes, Chicken Teriyaki w/ stir fry veggies, and Fish Tacos.  I'll let you know how that goes.

The Sweet Tooth Files: They Keep Calling Me!!!

I don't know what it is about a Peppermint Pattie, but it has got a serious hold on me.  I had one or two every day this week.  Now if I had to pick a candy to crave, this would be one of the best choices as far as which one will kill you slower! LOL  But seriously, It has less fat (2.5g) than my other favorite, the Reese's Peanut Butter Cup (13g).  I know I said this was not a diet, so there would be no off-limits foods, but my love for peanut butter wrapped in chocolate is serious.  I cannot go there.  This month is the Valentine's cup, next month will be the Easter egg cup.  It's a crucial time for me.
But back to this Pattie situation.  The mint has just the right amount of goodness to last me till the next day.  I hope that this was just a T.O.M craving because I hate using my points on food that provides no nutritional value.  Here's another choice for my chocolate cravings:

Sugar-Free Chewy Chocolate Brownies

Makes 16 brownies, 2" x 2" each.

Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup + 2 Tbs cocoa powder
  • 3/4 cup splenda
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/3 cup unsweetened applesauce
  • 3 egg whites
  • 1 tsp vanilla

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350 F. Combine dry ingredients, stir in wet ingredients. Coat an 8x8 baking pan with non-stick spray, spoon batter into pan and spread evenly. Bake 20-25 minutes until edges are firm and center has just set.
1 point on the old WW plan.

Dream Interpretations:  What is Really Going On?

Now I have been known to have crazy dreams, but this week I decided to find out what is really going on.  Before my journey began in January, I had a dream that my god son and I were climbing the Grand Canyon along with hundreds of others.  He was about two or three so I was holding him on my hip and steadily making my way to the top.  We made it, then I saw a huge wave coming up the canyon and swallowing people along the way.  I ran down this canyon as fast as I could, but the wave covered us.  We could still breath because it wasn't water, maybe dust?  We made it down to the bottom and my mom and brother picked us up and brought us home, only to realize I left my car back at the canyon.

Interpretation:

Rock Climbing
To dream that you are rock climbing symbolizes your struggle, determination and ambition. You are not any letting obstacles get in the way of your goal. Additionally, the dream indicates that you have an edge over others.
Tidal Wave
To dream that you are caught in a tidal wave represents an overwhelming emotional issue that demands your attention. You may have been keeping your feelings and negative emotions bottled up inside for too long. You may be holding back tears that you are afraid to express in your waking life. On a positive note, the tidal wave symbolizes the clearing away of old habits. If you are carried away by the tidal wave, then it means that you are ready to make a brand new start in a new place.
Ding Ding Ding Ding!!!  Finally ready to face my fears and emotions and begin a new positive way of living.

This week's dream I was standing in a neigborhood somewhere with some folks and witnessed a plane crash.  One after the other these planes kept flying low and in distress and I would announce that the plane was gonna crash and down it went!  I've had this dream before except the planes were in front of my house.
Interpretation:
Airplane Crash
To dream that a plane crashes signifies that you have set overly high and unrealistic goals for yourself. You are in danger of having those goals come crashing down. Alternatively, the crashing airplane represents your lack of confidence, self-defeating attitude and self-doubt. You do not believe in your own ability to achieve those goals. Loss of power and uncertainty in achieving your goals are also signified.

Whoa!
So in conclusion, I will not slow down because I believe that there is nothing wrong with moving my body and eating healthy every day.  However, I will not put so much pressure on myself to be perfect.  One of the first things my best guy friend told me when we met was "A journey of a thousand miles begins with one step".  Now this was not his quote, but it spoke to so many things we dreamed about.  This is my dream and I'll still reach my goals taking babysteps.  I'll just get there a little bit later! =)
