Week 11 Weigh In/ Don't Give Up/ Quote Of The Week

Week 11 Weigh In:  Strange Math

Today, I was at the car repair shop for 5 hours and REFUSED to eat until I got to work to weigh in at noon.  I lost 1.4 lbs for a total of 21.  It is so confusing to me that I have only lost 1.6 lbs this month after three Friday weigh ins!  There is a possibility of 10 lbs this month!  What is really going on?  I was kinda upset when I left the weigh in room.  Then gym buddy #1 reminded me I was still on course for my goals.  8 lbs for January, 8 lbs for February, and 10 lbs for March= 26 lbs by March 30th.
Although I've lost more or less than those numbers each month, it still has equalled out to the bottom line goal at the end of each respective month.  So here's to strange math and another 5 lbs down in the next two weeks!!

Don't Give Up:  A Word On Perseverance

Galatians 6:9

My mom left another great Word from The Word for You Today?  The devotion for today was called "If You Persist, You Will Prevail".  It was so good, I have to quote it:

Most of us underestimate the time it takes to achieve anything of lasting value.  You've got to be willing to pay your dues.  Cutting corners is a sign of impatience and poor self-discipline.  The secret of every breakthrough is to follow through.  Albert Gray says, "The common denominator of all success lies in forming the habit of doing things that failures don't like to do."  If you find yourself continually giving in to your moods, you need to change your approach to doing things.  To do this, you must set standards for yourself that require accountability.  Suffering a consequence for not following through will keep you on track like nothing else.  Once your new standards are in place, work according to them, not your moods; that will get you going in the right direction.  Self-discipline is a quality that's won only through practice.  Successful people have learned to do what doesn't come naturally.  They are willing to confront discomfort, distractions and doubt, and act in spite of them.  R. H. Macy, founder of Macy's department stores, failed at five different professions-whaler, retailer, gold miner, stockbroker, real estate broker-before he finally succeeded.  When asked what sustained him through failure after failure he replied, "Purpose and persistence".  That's what separates those who achieve from those who merely dream!  It's why Paul wrote: "Don't get discouraged and give up, for we will reap a harvest of blessing at the appropriate time".

I love this book and my mama for leaving it on my lunch box.  It truly is a lifestyle change.  After this long weekend, I am dying to get back into the gym and move my body.  Never thought I would feel that way.  =)
