Week 12 Progress Pics
These are late, but now that school and boot camp have started, I only get a little bit of time to devote to social media. With that said, I hit a plateau in March and remained at 208.6 at the end of the month. I did however lose some noticeable inches =). Thanks to working out like a crazy person three times a day. For April, I will be working out "smarter" by getting the most in the little bit of time I have.
Please excuse the bed-head. This was taken first thing in the morning. The only time my photographer is open for business- Lol!
Farmer's Market Haul: Veggie Week Essentials
I made Cream of Asparagus soup, Cabbage soup, and Garden Vegetable soup. The latter have zero points plus values. On Monday, I brought two to work thinking I may get hungry, but I didn't need it. For breakfast I have a protein shake, snacks are olives, edamame beans, dill pickles, carrot sticks, etc. I do still have my peppermint pattie =) Dinner is another soup with a protein shake since I am just leaving the gym.
I think the protein keeps me full enough to not miss meat. I feel very light and regular, and I think I will do a veggie day once a week after this.
G.U.N.: Goals + Uncontrollable External Factors= No Excuses
In my Marketing Channels course, we are discussing the uncontrollable factors that can change the way retailers manage their tasks. A bad economy, bad press, newer technology, and competition are all factors beyond their control that can affect the way retailers have to market their products to the consumer.
Of course, while I'm studying, I'm thinking about how this also affects the way we manage the tasks we have to do in our daily lives. My goal is to lose weight by eating smarter and exercising more. I achieve this through Weight Watchers and going to the gym. These two things require an action on my part. Follow me while I connect the dots. Right now, I am juggling two online classes, a month long nightly boot camp program at the gym, a long distance relationship, and a demanding job. These are my uncontrollable external factors. Although, I did choose them, once the choice was made, I committed myself to them. If I let these factors convince me to not go to the gym because I had homework or I was too tired, I would not reach my goal. If I did not manage my time wisely by preparing my meals and ironing my clothes for the week on Sundays (don't judge me-I'm not a morning person), I would not reach my goal. Life happens and it doesn't matter what else we've got going on, it's still going to happen. Re-adjust your daily grind so that your health is still on the to do list. So many times we opt to skip out on it because everything else is so much more important. The reality is, if I skipped the gym for six months to finish school, I would just be a fat graduate.
