Don't Believe the Hype/ A-ha Moments with Monster/ Week 3 Workouts

Don't Believe the Hype: Looks Can Be Deceiving

The other day, I was introduced to someone I've known for a while.  It was an introduction because they shared with me for the first time a picture of themselves 100 lbs heavier.  My mind was blown because in my eyes they were the picture of perfection.  You know the girl who is beautiful, stylish, and never had a weight struggle in her life.  She is athletic and is always challenging herself to take her fitness to the next level all while she is motivating us.  I just thought she was the pretty, slim girl cheering us on.  Yes, I was so shocked that she too, knew what it is like to fight this battle.  She shared that she was always overweight and this journey was her first time being small.  O_O  Shocked!  She shared that she still has body image issues.  Mouth on the floor!
Although I can't wait for her to recognize how great she looks from inside out, I am happy that I got to see her from a whole new perspective.  She is on this journey too and I am not alone.  What you perceive about someone from where they are now in life does not tell you the whole story.  One day, I will be that picture of health and hopefully someone's "perfect-ness".  I can't wait to tell them my story.

A-ha Moments with Monster: Curb Those Carbs
First of all I want to say that I was a beast today in the gym.  Monster is channeling that inner body builder in me.  I would love to train for and possibly compete in a competition, but the discipline required is crazy.  One thing Monster stresses is my sodium intake which is making hold water in places I don't want it.  Right now, I have about one meal a day that has a high sodium content.
This week he is challenging me to reduce my carb intake.  My body uses carbs for energy.  Once it's used up, it will use other sources like fat, which I have plenty of to use.   However, if I give my body too much carbs, my body will store the excess as fat and I'm defeating the purpose of my healthy eating.
So next week I am to eat all my carbs during breakfast and my a.m. snack.  After that, only protein and vegetables.  I am not a fan of restrictions, but I want to see where this will take me.  Updates soon.

Week 3 Workouts

Another successful week of consistency and commitment to me!
